Know Your Options

The uncertainties of life can get in the way of even the best-laid plans. Today’s volatile economy has affected us all and brings unprecedented challenges to seniors and families preparing to move to a senior community. Pavilion Senior Living understands the financial burden and cost of care associated with senior living. This resource was put together to aid in the process of ensuring financial security and presenting all available options and benefits to you. For more information on any of these programs, please contact the community directly.

Veteran Benefits

If you are a US veteran or the surviving spouse of a veteran who served during an active time of war, you may be eligible to receive a federal monthly pension up to $2,230 per month to assist in payment for personal care such as assisted living. Find out more at www.vba.va.gov or by simply calling (800) 827-1000.

Life Care Funding

The liquidation of a life insurance policy through a life settlement can act as a “funding bridge” to help cover the costs of retirement and senior living services when other assets such as a home or stocks are underperforming or challenging to sell. Find out more at www.lifecarefunding.com or by calling (888) 670-7773.

Long Term Care Medicaid

Medicaid is not often a widely accepted form of payment in many assisted living communities. Long-Term Care Medicaid, however, is a valuable resource to assist in the cost of services and medication assistance at times. At Pavilion Senior Living, we accept most forms of Medicaid to assist our residents in being able to afford the care they deserve. LTC Medicaid does not replace the requirement to pay but helps with the cost of care and assistance with medications. Room and board are still required as negotiated by the community.

There are strict requirements for Florida to approve an LTC Medicaid claim and currently has a waiting list that can take several years. We encourage residents who are concerned about their long-term finances to apply to ensure they are on the waiting list when the need arises.
